Meet 35-year-old Judy Wachera, the popular deaf hairdresser in Nyeri At Clicks Salon and Beauty Parlor in downtown Nyeri, one hairdresser has been catching the eye of clients both for her exquisite work and show of resilience.
Judy Wachera, 35, is deaf but her impairment is the least of her worries as long as she does what she loves and in the best way possible.
With Ms Wachera having only worked at the beauty parlour for three months she has already impacted so much that her workmates have taken up sign language classes to be able to communicate with her.
She hails from Karima in Othaya born in a family of four siblings but she is the only one with hearing impairment. Ms Wachera was one-year-old when she lost her hearing to an undiagnosed condition.
Her parents took her to different hospitals in Nyeri to find the cause but it was in vain and since then she has had to live without her hearing.
