Bandon Dunes was designed by Scotsman David McLay Kidd, and is ranked 7th in the US. It’s located in Bandon OR and is a top golf resort in world. This type of course forces you to be smart if you want to score low in the wind. We were very lucky in a sense that we only had to deal with 20 mph winds. We thought it was windy but the locals and the caddies let us know it was the nicest day of the year (JULY 22nd).

Speaking of caddies...Just spend the $100 and let them carry your bag while you go hole by hole and take in the beauty of the course. Their course knowledge is strong and will guide you in the right direction. Make sure you are in decent shape when you head to Bandon...Tyler told us we walked over 10+ miles per day and it's no walk in the park.

For the most part we learned you need to use your putter anywhere around the green. Wedges with bounce did us no favors unless we were in a green side bunker. Using your 7,8,9,and P wedge bump and run is the play IMO.

Rates for Bandon Dunes, Pacific Dunes, Bandon Trails, and Old Macdonald are all the same. They range from $100 in the cold months and $200-$285 in the summer. Rates for Bandon Preserve 13 hole par 3 course is $50-$100

This was by far the best golf trip we’ve been and can’t wait to go back.
