LEAVING YOU BEHIND ... Some things are difficult to explain and others are very easy. This song is the latter. . These lyrics were written for the ones who yearn to just be somewhere ... anywhere else. Life is hard, sometimes brutally so and soemtimes the price you pay for staying in the place your in, isn't worth the cost. Turning away from your past for some of us is simply a matter of survival. For the purpose of these lyrics however, in the time they were written, this song is the proverbial defiant middle finger to that past. This is the song for when we finally lean into the future and face everything the world can throw at us, head on. This is the song we sing when you have taken EVERYTHING they can throw at you. This is the song you sing ... when you realize there's more out there than what you were told to accept!... when you realize you can leave!!... when you realize your life isn't contingent on what others think!!! This is the song for when you realize that what they have determined you have to do or say or be, IS NOT ENOUGH. This song is about leaving all of that, all of them ... behind.

Aside from the song being a definite bench mark in the evolution of our sound, this our first chance we have had to officially introduce our new lead guitar player Michael Elliott! The former lead guitar player of one of our favorite bands Scarecrow Sideshow (look them up on Spotify!), Mike has been on our radar for a long time. He has a distinctive style and is generally one of the most pleasant people we have ever met. A true asset to both the music and the live show. I think you will agree, he brings soemthing of his own to the music and truly helps make this song what it is.
LYB (Leaving You Behind) was written in two versions, and this one is the one which rapidly rose to the top. Lynne took the lead vocals and definitely made them her own. We recorded both versions with the absolutely lovely Patrick Himes at Reel Love Recording, (our second home), in Dayton Ohio over the course of a couple days. With our friend Jake Wisecup from WISEUP Productions shooting the footage, we were able to capture this moment in time and have been working at every show we play now to recreate this song as it is here for you to check out. This song is DEFINITELY going to be on our upcoming album..
