Ian Olver is a medical oncologist, bioethicist and researcher. He is currently Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Health and Medical Science at the University of Adelaide. Previously, he has been Director, University of South Australia Cancer Research Institute where he headed a psycho‑oncology research team; CEO of Cancer Council Australia and Clinical Director of the Royal Adelaide Hospital Cancer Centre; President of the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer; and served on the Australian Health Ethics Committee of the NHMRC for nine years, chairing it for six years.
