Chandrayaan 2 sent back more pictures of the Moon which were released by the Indian Space Research Organisation on Monday. Multiple craters on the lunar surface, like Jackson, Mitra, Mach and Korolev can be seen in the images. The Mitra crater is named after Prof. Sisir Kumar Mitra, an Indian physicist. Also visible in the images are the Sommerfeld and Kirkwood craters. On August 22, 2019, ISRO had released Chandrayaan 2's first image of the Moon. The Apollo craters were visible in the first photograph. Chandrayaan 2 was launched on July 22, 2019.
