NEWS DESK | Representatives Omar and Tlaib are visiting Israel Friday, August 16 to learn about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The two have been supporters of BDS in the past and are expected to visit the West Bank on the trip. While it was reported Netanyahu would likely grant rhem entry into Israel, he may be changing his mind. Will they be stopped at the airport? Our Owen Alterman analyzes.

Story:

Democratic Representatives Ilhan Omar (MN) and Rashida Tlaib (MI) will be arriving in Israel on August 16 and will reportedly be allowed to enter, according to Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Ron Dermer.

Despite Dermer's promise and reports that Netanyahu will grant entry, speculation has mounted over the past two days that the prime minister may have changed his mind amid calls from Trump to prevent the two from entering.

Both Omar and Tlaib have been critical of Israel's policies regarding West Bank settlements and Palestinian rights, with Omar having tweeted before this year's AIPAC conference that support for Israel was "all about the Benjamins".

It remains to be seen whether or not they will be allowed to enter come Friday.
