MEP Daniel Hannan revealed the real "Brexit crisis" rocking through the European Union is the result of the bloc's failure to respect the vote of British citizens to leave.

Daniel Hannan insisted the "crisis" facing the European Union is not the result of British citizens to quit but of Brussels' failure to give in to Britain's Brexit demands.

Mr Hannan warned colleagues seeking to prevent Brexit from happening that citizens will deliver them "a reckoning" if their decision is further betrayed.

Addressing colleagues in the European Parliament, Mr Hannan said: "This idea we are suffering a Brexit crisis is based on what you can’t have helped but notice is that Brexit hasn’t happened.
