Installing an OEM CRL 5-Way Switch in a '57 Reissue Strat

Installing an OEM CRL 5-Way Switch in a '57 Reissue Strat In the beginning of this video, I compare my new CRL switch with my vintage 1964 CRL switch. They are almost identical. CRL switches are the same switches Fender used all the way back to the beginning. I'm amazed they are still made and in the USA and with the same quality. Here is a link to the correct switch to put in your Strat. I was a little surprised Fender did not install a CRL switch in my Strat back in 1986. The old switch's number is MX49995 6MLR and I think it is made by Oak-Grigsby. Be careful when you solder the wires to the switch. You may end up with solder in-between the contacts which will keep the switch from clicking into that position. To remove that solder, it is best to heat the contact with your soldering iron and carefully push the switch into that position to clear the extra solder.
