In this video my wife and I demonstrate what the Pedestrian Warning System aka PWS sounds like in a 2019 Tesla Model 3. This system is a new requirement and is intended to alert pedestrians to the presence of electric vehicles in hopes of avoiding accidents. There is a different sound for reverse and forward. The tone changes as the speed varies between 0 and 19 mph. Model 3 built after 9/1/2019 will have the PWS system. Not sure on the exact dates, but sounds like other electric vehicles will soon be made with a similar device as well.
