The OTHER Thing ETERNAL Besides God God is eternal and that is easy for us to remember and to acknowledge, but what we tend to forget is the other thing that is eternal besides God is the consequence to our actions. Every single one of our actions count either for us or against us. If we put our faith in Jesus and we repent of our sins to live fully for Him, He cleanses us, He gives us a new heart and a new mind, and He changes us, we are reborn. But if we refuse to repent of our sins, if we say we are okay, we are already going to heaven, we are safe and secure, God will just forgive us IN our sins, we deceive ourselves, the truth is NOT in us and those Christians, those people who SAY they believe in God, but continue to live a sinful life, their actions WILL have ETERNAL consequences. I want to read to you what Jesus said in Mark chapter 9:43-48; “If your hand causes you to sin cut if off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched, where their worm doe not die, and the fire is no quenched. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut if off, it is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall NEVER be quenched where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the Kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire, where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.” Jesus was making a big deal about this fire and these worms and the area that people go who do not really repent. WHY would Jesus repeat this SO MANY TIMES if He did not mean it? Many Christians think that Jesus is joking, they think that He will make an exception for their sin. They don’t take Jesus and His word seriously, they think that He will just forgive them because they have believed in His name. But Jesus calls us to immediate action regarding our sins. We need to get sin out of our life. With Jesus’ help IT IS POSSIBLE TO STOP SINNING. You can stop sinning, you can escape hell if you put your faith in Jesus, if you call upon Him and if you walk towards HIM and away from the devil. Are you really working on stopping your sin problem? Because your actions will have everlasting consequences. God is eternal but so is hell. Will you repent and put your faith in Jesus? Or will you end in the lake of fire where the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched?
