"I bet there aren't many living people who can say they've been to one of those!" — Hermione Granger commented on Nearly-Headless Nick's party. The 500th Deathday Party of the ghost Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, who haunted Hogwarts Castle as the Ghost of Gryffindor Tower, was a celebration thrown by said ghost, commonly called Nearly-Headless Nick, (as his head hung on by an inch of skin), to commemorate the day he died.
The Party included a candlelit dinner of rancid, molded food, the smell of which would gag a normal living creature. The Headless Hunt attended the party, so did Harry, Ron and Hermione. Harry agreed to attend the party to boost Nick's ego, and he regretted it very much.
Dear traveler, what brought you to Hogwarts on this Halloween night? And HOW ON EARTH did you end up at this party for the dead? Well, as living people, we might as well try to enjoy ourselves. Even though the food looks disgusting, at least the ambience is a killer (no pun intended).
Quick, hide behind this curtain with me! Moaning Myrtle is drifting this way, and she looks extra whiny!
