#TPHTips: Backing Up Your Work

#TPHTips: Backing Up Your Work This week on TPH Tips our Academic Coach, Coach Jentz shares a study tip with you that can save you a TON of time and headaches in the future!

WHY this is important: Ever spent all night working on a paper and then your computer dies, crashes, the power goes out or you spill your drink on your computer?! We have and it SUCKS when you spend all that time working and lose your work, miss the deadline and do worse on the assignment or project than you should have!

WHAT to do: Next time you are doing work use an online software program that automatically saves your work! Stop worrying about saving it or backing it up!

HOW to do that: Nearly every company out there offers some sort of cloud program now but the two programs we’ve found to work the best are:
• Google Drive, which has docs, sheets, slides. (Think Microsoft word, excel and powerpoint). Google Drive is free and easy to share, or download in other formats.
• Microsoft Office, basically googles competitor in this space, and offers exact same product but typically at a cost. You can use Microsoft One Note for notes which is free and a great tool but has less options

It’s simple yet effective! We hope you found this week’s TPH Tip helpful! If you did please let us know! If you’d like to hear a tip on something specific, let us know so we can do our best to help!
