Transactors Improv celebrates the season with Christmas with the Folks Who Live on the Hill, a two-act show featuring improvised songs. The performance is based on audience suggestions and divided into five episodes with live musical accompaniment by pianist Glenn Mehrbach.
Inspired by the 1937 Kern/Hammerstein song The Folks Who Live on the Hill, the show follows the changes in a family and its home through five snapshot scenes from holiday celebrations over the decades. Children, grandchildren, in laws, neighbors, and friends come and go during good and bad times, weaving multi-hued threads in the tapestry of the family’s life.
Anoo Tree Brod, director Greg Hohn, Bart Hubbard, Juliet Kaplan, Steve Scott, Steven Warnock, and Jane Allen Wilson make up the cast. Jenn Evans masters technical effects from the booth.
Performance date: December 7, 2018
