Former Baltimore mayor Charged With Fraud And Tax Evasion

Reuters reports that Former Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh was charged ewith criminal conduct on Wednesday.
She's charged with wire fraud and tax evasion relating to sales of a self-published children’s book.
The charges relate to her dealings with the University of Maryland Medical System, of which she was a board member.
The university paid her for her children’s books about a character named “Healthy Holly.”
Pugh initially defended the arrangement.
She resigned in disgrace in May 2019.
