I just couldn't resist the chance of comparing the two 'hearts' of the DT Buggies, the gear boxes and chassis', using white backgrounds and white lights. This opportunity will probably never arise again, with three newly build gear boxes and brand new chassis' with no 'distracting' elements like electronics etc.
Hope a few other good folks interested in the DT buggies will appreciate this too. If there is any interest in this video I can do it again with the finished chassis and later on again with the finished buggies. You are welcome to skip it and wait till Sunday, where we will start building again.
The gear boxes featured in this video are not stock. You can watch the builds and see the different hop-ups and upgrades (also listed in the description boxes) in the first three parts of this series:
Tamiya DT-01/02/03 Project #1 (Tamiya DT-01 Mad Bull):
Tamiya DT-01/02/03 Project #2 (Tamiya DT-02 Sand Viper):
Tamiya DT-01/02/03 Project #3 (Tamiya DT-03 Racing Fighter):
... more to come!
The RC Car build season has arrived. And what better way (for me) to start the season with one of Tamiya's most popular and famous entry-level line, the 2WD 1/10 'DT Buggies', direct successors of the Grasshoppers and Hornets.
In this series we will be building the Tamiya Mad Bull 58205 (DT-01 Chassis), the Tamiya Sand Viper 58374 (DT-02 Chassis) and the Tamiya Racing Fighter 58628 (DT-03 Chassis) and do comparisons and a number of upgrades along the way. We might even have a look at some of the Grasshoppers, Hornets and a few other DT Buggies along the way.
Whenever I have a video for this series, it will be available Sunday. Whenever I have two, one more video will be available sometime during the week.
None of the buggies will be build stock and this video series is not intended for instructional purposes. Every detail of all three buggies have already been carefully planned and all optional parts and electronics have already been selected and purchased.
There will be none of the usual guiding and explanatory texts in the videos, no color optimization and no time lapse. Videos are only targeted at fellow Tamiya fans. Sometimes it's time to let the raw images speak for themselves and just enjoy the RC car. The world is hurting and spinning faster and faster. People are suffering. But a little hobby time can allow us a short welcomed break from it all. Some peace. Sit back and relax. Pure RC building ... with a little music added (feel free to turn down the volume of the video and put on your own favorite music while you are watching).
Hope you will follow along! Next episode coming up soon!
