Videos can use content-based copyright law contains reasonable use Fair Use ( The Who legend Roger Daltrey announced he is set to undergo a voice operation while unveiling the band's slab on Camden's Music Walk of Fame on Tuesday.The iconic frontman, 75, revealed he 'can't speak much' ahead of an operation on Friday as he unveiled the inaugural paving slab in the rock band's honour alongside bandmate Pete Townshend, 74.   The Pinball Wizard star said: 'I can't do much talking, I'm off for a voice op on Friday but just to say it's great, it's a shame it's not in the Goldhawk Road but it's great that it's in Camden because Camden's roots with the music business go way back.'    The legendary Shepherd's Bush club in Goldhawk Road was where the band first performed more than 50 years ago,Then known as the Goldhawk Social Club, Daltrey, Townshend and bassist John Entwistle started their career as The Detours in the early 1960s.  Share this article Share This kickstarted their journey to becoming one of the most influential bands in history, selling more than 100m records in their 55 year career. The announcement comes two months after Roger was forced to end a gig in Houston, Texas eight songs into the set after losing his voice. He struggled with vocals during Who Are You, before Pete took over the lead vocals.During Eminence Front, Roger told the crowd 'I think I should quit while I'm ahead' before walking offstage. Pete then told the crowd: 'I'm really, really sorry. Roger cannot actually speak now. 'Apparently, before the show he saw a doctor, and, you know, he's been singing so f*****g great through this tour. I don't know what the f**k's going on. He has been on top of his game.'  My Generation singer Roger looked stylish in a black double-breasted coat paired with a silver scarf, jeans and his signature tinted shades.Guitarist and principal songwriter Pete was dapper in a navy peacoat and black chinos as he embraced his bandmate, before the dynamic duo posed next to a customised taxi emblazoned with their logo.They were were presented with their award by Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie, with fans and friends - including the likes of Suggs and Jazzie B - watching on.    A statement on behalf of the band read: 'We are honoured to be the first band with a stone on the Music Walk Of Fame.  'Camden has always been vital to London's thriving music scene and is, as we all know, a world-renowned hub for the arts. 'As Londoners, it's very surreal to be immortalised in stone on Camden High Street, and it's quite something to know that people can pop by and see us anytime, albeit virtually.' The Music Walk of Fame, inspired by Hollywood's Walk of Fame. stretches between The Roundhouse and Koko with organisers planning to award a further 20 stones to legendary music acts in the next year.P
