Part II:
If you’re someone who keeps up to date with the latest developments in all things guitar-gear, you will no doubt agree that Fender’s fairly recent entrance to the pedal market has been hard to ignore. With a wide range of effects to choose from, all of which are housed in colourful anodized aluminum enclosures and sold at competitive prices, it’s easy to understand why.
The 2019 Summer NAMM show saw the release of several additions to Fender’s growing range of eye-catching pedals, the MTG: LA Tube Distortion being one of them.
Designed in collaboration with Bruce Egnater, the MTG: LA is a higher-gain update of the original MTG Tube Distortion from Fender. Treble and Bass controls allow the player to EQ the pedal to their taste, whilst additional ‘tone’ and ‘tight’ controls provide you with the ability to fine tune the high and low-end frequency responses of the pedal.
A footswitchable boost section with two controls - level and boost - allows the player to dial-in more volume and add more gain for a solo-boost.
The MTG: LA does require a substantial amount of power - 260mA to be exact - so be sure to check that you have a power supply capable of working with it.
