Conway: Trump monitoring impeachment, mood is fine

Conway: Trump monitoring impeachment, mood is fine (18 Dec 2019) White House counselor Kellyanne Conway says President Donald Trump has been "monitoring" the House impeachment debate but has had "a lot on his schedule, as he does most days."

Conway said the process has been preordained from the beginning and so the debate has been more of an "add water and stir day."

Conway said Trump does not see the fact that he will likely be impeached later Wednesday as a stain on his legacy, but instead sees it "a stain on the legacy of people who have been so focused and hell bent on removing him from office."

Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Battle Creek, Michigan Wednesday evening at around the same time as House is voting on the two charges — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Trump's press secretary says the president will have plenty to say at the rally about the voting back in Washington.
