Mutual Information and Minimum Mean-square Error in Gaussian Channels

Mutual Information and Minimum Mean-square Error in Gaussian Channels A short presentation on Mutual information and minimum mean-square error in Gaussian channels
as a part of the Information Theory (EE5143-IITM) course project. Jointly presented by Lokesh Kumar (EE16B040) and Vignesh (EE16B127).

Paper Title: Mutual information and minimum mean-square error in Gaussian channels

Authors: Dongning Guo (Dept. of Electr. Eng., Princeton Univ., NJ, USA), S. Shamai (Israel Institute of Technology), S. Verdu (
Princeton, NJ).

Paper describes an important relationship between two quantities each playing a fundamental role in their respective fields. It related mutual information and MMSE (Minimum Mean square error) as a function of SNR and provides interesting insights in the field of both Information and Estimation Theory.
