Officials praise heroic actions of parishioners killed in Texas church shooting

A man who opened fire at a Texas church on Sunday morning was fatally shot by two “heroic” parishioners who were serving as security, authorities say.

The shooting took place at the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement.

Aside from the gunman, two people were wounded by gunfire, said White Settlement Police Chief J.P. Bevering. One person has died, while the second person has life-threatening injuries.
