Despite the challenging global lithium market coupled with a turbulent Argentine economy, 2019 has been another year of achievement for #OrocobreLimited with the Stage 2 Expansion project at the #Olaroz #Lithium Facility achieving a number of milestones including construction of new evaporation and harvest ponds, a secondary liming plant to cater for additional brine in our expanding pond system, drilling of 15 new production wells and the expansion of onsite infrastructure, including a new medical centre for the extended work force, new accommodation facilities capable of housing 100 additional staff and new roads. Another highlight was construction of the #Naraha Lithium Hydroxide Plant commencing in August 2019. The Naraha Plant – a joint venture project between Orocobre and Toyota Tsusho Corporation – will be the first of its kind in Japan and is perfectly situated with a well-established cathode manufacturing plant operating in the immediate vicinity.
The Naraha Project’s Engineering – Procurement and Construction contract was awarded to #Veolia Water Technologies – a company recognised as the preferred technology supplier of cutting-edge #chemical processing solutions to global lithium producers and refiners.
The construction of the Naraha Plant will provide Orocobre invaluable product diversification and will further cement our position as a global lithium chemicals producer.
