Hickman is doing the silly billy corporate corporate act here. It’s cute, and amusing, but genuinely (big laugh) funny? No. You only get the big laughs when you push against the Gods of the city. Laughing at boomers is safe. Nobody is going to complain about it, nobody is going to be upset. Boomers are a safe target, because they are not a ‘protected group’ on the corporate plantation. So, where are the big laughs? You’ll find them, on Unauthorised TV and DLive with Owen Benjamin. Comedy is supposed to push against societal boundaries, and the uncomfortable lies that we all have to go along with. If it’s not doing that, what is the point if it? Shakespeare got it.
