Unnao Incident Another Example of How India Fails Rape Survivors | The Quint Another day, another reminder of why India is no country for women. A 23-year-old rape survivor in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, was set on fire by men including those accused of having raped her. She did everything we expect a rape survivor to do — she had filed an FIR in March, accused these two men of raping and filming her. Police had managed to arrest one of them while the other was absconding. And yet, the system failed to protect her.
