About the Speaker: -
Shri. Atanu Dey is a development economist. His emphasis is on the impact of the twin factors of technology and government on economic performance. Atanu received his Ph.D. in economics at the University of California at Berkeley. Prior to that, he had worked for several years in the Computer Systems Division of Hewlett Packard in the Silicon Valley. His undergraduate is in mechanical engineering, and he holds postgraduate degrees in computer science from IIT Kanpur and Rutgers University. He was a Reuters Digital Vision Fellow at Stanford University in 2001-02.
Shri Atanu Dey created a model for rural development called “RISC — Rural Infrastructure & Services Commons”. His book, “ Transforming India: Big Ideas for a Developed Nation ” was published in 2011. His blogs at “ Atanu Dey on India’s Development ”.
