The original Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers pilot had an extended, almost 8 minute long opening sequence that never aired. According to wikipedia, the creators at the time thought it would feel more cinematic and informational for the audience, but Disney executives thought it took up too much time in what would normally be a traditional saturday morning cartoon. The creators eventually acquieced because they realized if they shortened the opening, they could get more story into the half-hour format.
