Is buy to let still worth the investment in 2020? Things have really changed over the years especially in the UK real estate market. Gone are the days when you could buy a property for £100K, rent it out and sit on it for 10 15 years, and then be guaranteed to sell it for 5x the price.
Buy to let investors have come to expect significant capital gains from their holdings. However this is no longer certain as the housing market, especially in London, is stagnating.
You have to really know what you're looking for. If you're buying a high yield rental property then fantastic - you're on the right track. However, don't go around thinking you can buy any property in any area and its value will definitely multiply.
