LUNAR ECLIPSE 2020 | WHAT IS LUNAR ECLIPSE | WHEN WILL IT OCCUR

LUNAR ECLIPSE 2020 | WHAT IS LUNAR ECLIPSE | WHEN WILL IT OCCUR Hello everyone welcome to Loijaa YT and today in this video we will talk about lunar eclipse that will occur in 2020. In this video, we will discuss, lunar eclipse, why it occurs and when it is going to be seen in 2020, and how it can be seen.

You must be wondering what a lunar eclipse is, well A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly behind Earth and into its shadow. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are exactly or very closely aligned with Earth between the other two.
A lunar eclipse can occur only on the night of a full moon. The type and length of a lunar eclipse depend on the Moon's proximity to either node of its orbit.

During a total lunar eclipse, Earth completely blocks direct sunlight from reaching the Moon. The only light reflected from the lunar surface has been refracted by Earth's atmosphere. This light appears reddish for the same reason that a sunset or sunrise does. Due to this reddish color, a totally eclipsed Moon is sometimes called a blood moon.

There are three types lunar eclipse — total, partial and Penumbral —
the most dramatic being a total lunar eclipse, in which Earth's shadow completely covers the moon.

The next lunar eclipse will be a Penumbral lunar eclipse on Jan. 10, 2020 and will be visible from Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.

On January 10 the Penumbral eclipse of the Moon will last from 05:07pm–09:12pm UT. At maximum eclipse, 90% of the Moon's disc will be partially shaded by the Earth, which will cause a slight shadow gradient across its disc; this subtle effect may be visible to careful observers.
No part of the Moon will be in complete shadow. The eclipse will last 4 hours and 5 minutes overall and will be visible from Africa, Europe, Asia, Alaska, and Australia.

The timings of the eclipse are as follows. You will be able to see the eclipse if the Moon is up as seen from your location, but note that this Penumbral eclipse will be very difficult to see in practice:

THE Penumbral eclipse ON 10 JANUARY

Begins at 17:07:45 Universal Time
It will reach to its Maximum at: 19:09:59 UT
And the eclipse ends at 21:12:19 UT
