I have discovered that I feel the connectedness of everything in the reserve profoundly...in times of drought and famine and in times of abundance...
Earlier today I took the puppies for a walk to the tiny pool in the dessicated reserve river and felt overwhelming sadness at the sight of the dozens of crabs all struggling to stay beneath the last cover of the reducing pool of water...
Their burrows in the river bank which are usually deep beneath the water surface have been exposed for months to the relentless oven 40 degrees Centigrade plus heat here.
And later in the day the massive pre-storm winds picked up and trees bent over in anticipation of a storm...and now relief for all has arrived.
