The Reality of Finding a Good Caregiver

The Reality of Finding a Good Caregiver Trying to find the right caregiver for yourself can be a daunting task. Grace shares her experience with this and provides some valuable advice on finding the right caregiver for you.

Grace Brulotte is 23 years old and was born and raised in Fernie, British Columbia. She has a condition called Arthrogryposis, which causes stiff joints and muscle weakness, as well as severe Scoliosis of the spine (a 95 degree curvature). She is a full time power wheelchair user, and relies on support from caregivers to function in her daily life. Despite her severe disabilities, Grace founded and became the president of a nonprofit society at the age of 14. This society gives people with disabilities the opportunity to adaptive ski at their local ski hill. She also founded another nonprofit at age 22, The Gracie Lou Foundation, which focuses on increasing inclusion for those with disabilities in society. In 2017, Grace became the First Female Tandem Sit Skier to Heliski in Canada. She loves anything outdoors or anything that challenges her to adapt and overcome. Grace is known for her adventurous and tenacious spirit, as well as her infectious smile. As a reflection of this, she was given the nickname Gracie Lou Whatwontshedo, which she believes to be the spirit within everyone, that pushes them to go beyond their comfort zones and achieve anything they set their minds to. Grace loves to chat and share, so feel free to contact her on her social media listed below.
