Well, yesterday, Tum Apisak leaker extraordinaire got us some details on the 8 core model the 10700k. This model will steal the 9900k’s spot with a base clock of 3.8Ghz compared to 3.6 on the 9900K and a boost of up to 5.3Ghz compared to 5Ghz. That is an insane boost for a stock CPU. Now keep in mind, the 9900K did not boost all of its cores to 5Ghz while in turbo mode and this new 10700K probably won't either. Which means, despite the 5.3Ghz boost clock, this new CPU might perform about the same as a 9900Ks which does boost all cores to 5Ghz.
Intel CPU’s have been know to easily overclock all cores to at least the turbo speed, but at 5.3Ghz, it seems like we might not see that happen again. What is sure to happen again is intel marketing this thing once again as the king of gaming.
