Why government is not recasting the pension scheme?
1.Remove ceiling on pensionable salary.
2.Increase pension contribution from 8.33% to 12%.
3.Revise pension formula for equitable distribution of pension.For that adopt pensionable salary as average salary for entire membership period to correspond with contribution at various stages. Simultaneously, reduce the pensionable service from 35 years to 30 years to pay 50%of pensionable salary as pension.
4.Review the scheme periodically for course correction and declaration of bonus in case of surplus.
5.Increase government contribution suitably.
6.To give some relief to old pensioners with less pensionable service and less salary, minimum pension should be suitably increased without further delay.
