EU votes in favour of a universal charging cable for all mobile devices

The European Union has voted in favour of a universal charging cable for all mobile devices. In a resolution approved by 582 votes to 40, the European Parliament called for an "urgent need for EU regulatory action to reduce electronic waste and empower consumers to make sustainable choices".
