Golgi apparatus is an important organelle of eukaryotic cell. Golgi apparatus consist of flattened membranous sac called cisternae. In plant cell golgi bodies often calle dictyosomes. Golgi body composed of proteins, lipids and enzymes. Golgi body consist of system of membrane that are stacked parallel to each other and form flattened sacs called cisternae.
Each cisternae has a cis and trans face.
Funtion of golgi apparatus is the transportation, modification and packaging of materials like protein and lipids mostly into vesicles for delivery to targeted destination.This lecture is specially recorded for students of 9th class, 9th class from all Punjab Boards and is based on the current curriculam of study for Biology book. Golgi bodies structure and function - This lecture explains about the structure and function of Golgi bodies. It explains the formation of cis and trans Golgi network from endoplasmic reticulum. Golgi body structure is formed with vesicle like sacs called cisternae and the Golgi body function is to process proteins and sort cellular proteins for delivery inside or outside the cell.
