Novel coronavirus: Schools in Singapore to suspend assemblies, stagger recess times Starting Feb 5, schools and eldercare facilities in Singapore will cut down on mass gatherings. In schools, large groups and communal activities like flag-raising assemblies, camps and mass celebrations will be suspended. Recess times will be staggered, while co-curricular activities and after-school programmes will also be held in smaller groups. The Manpower Ministry has urged businesses, particularly F&B outlets, shops and hotels to step up frequency of cleaning. Read more:
