Your Grace is enough / Stir up a hunger / Come Holy Spirit, fall afresh on me
"“They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them.
They will plant vineyards and drink their wine;
they will make gardens and eat their fruit.
I will plant Israel in their own land,
never again to be uprooted
from the land I have given them,”
says the Lord your God."
Amos 9:14-15
After a heavy rebuke for the years of sin and rebellion of the kings and their people, the Mighty Vintner, the Father in Heaven, promises hope and restoration to His people, a gathering of the remnant of His people, who took their correction and remained obedient to the rebuke of their Father, and turned their hearts away from sin.
Through His prophet Amos, God shared the promise of great hope and revival, once gathered together, that the people will rebuild and live in their cities, that God Himself will give them the choicest vines to plant and grow and even enjoy the harvested crop of fruit and their wine.
God promises His children who come before Him to be cleansed and purified, to be refined and revived, who desire that they be stirred up for a hunger of a new portion of His Spirit, that He will plant them in their own land, never again to be touched, never again to be uprooted, from the promises He has given.
As we lift up our worship and love to the Father, for the Great Love that He has shown us by giving us His only Son, through Jesus, in Whom alone we have complete assurance in God's beautiful promise of restoration and permanence of our settlement in the land that God has prepared for us.
May this be our desire as we worship, that the Lord stir up a hunger in the hearts of the people for more of His Spirit to come upon us as all, we deep dive into the Year of Growth and greater knowledge of God and His grace and His Spirit in us.
