Young people 'don’t know what they are doing' when it comes to voting

Young people 'don’t know what they are doing' when it comes to voting Commercial litigator Caroline di Russo says she is not sure “being asked to make a big political decision” is something young people are “really capable of” responding to the Greens proposal to lower the voting age to 16-years-old.

Fellow Panelist and Adelaide Advertiser reporter Caleb Bond told Sky News host Gary Hardgrave this motion reflected the Greens' idea that “young people tend to skew left”.

He said many members of the left say “if you lower the voting age we will engage more young people in politics” but without the proper "tools" the reality is “a group of people who don’t know what they are doing”.

“Generation Z are actually the most right-leaning generation since second world war” said social media commentator Daisy Cousins.

“The Greens might be unpleasantly surprised by who those 16-year-olds actually vote for”.
