The thigh has three sets of strong muscles. The hamstring muscles in the back of the thigh, The quadriceps muscles in the front, and the Adductor muscles on the inside. The quadriceps and hamstrings work together to straighten (extend) and bend (flex) the leg. The adductor muscles pull the legs together to stretch Quadriceps.
All this exercise will all lubricate the hip joints. The hip joint is a ball and socket synovial joint, formed by an articulation between the pelvic acetabulum and the head of the femur. It forms a connection from the lower limb to the pelvic girdle, and thus is designed for stability and weight-bearing rather than a large range of movement.
