Everton backed to complete Kurt Zouma signing - ‘There’s possibility of a deal being done’

Everton backed to complete Kurt Zouma signing - ‘There’s possibility of a deal being done’ Chelsea defender Zouma spent the entirety of last campaign on Merseyside. The Frenchman’s Stamford Bridge future remains unclear despite Frank Lampard being keen to keep hold of Zouma. Zouma is not against staying at Chelsea, though wants to be given the chance to play regular football. And former Premier League defender Danny Mills wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up back at Everton. “Zouma’s a quality player, a fabulous athlete,” Mills told Football Insider. “Obviously he’s gone away and played pretty well, started to perform at Everton. “They have adequate replacements in that position but yeah, strength in depth, a player that was already at the club. “Don’t be surprised – he might stay at Chelsea for a bit but Frank hasn’t named his 25-man squad yet so until that comes around, “Zouma may well not get into that for whatever reason and there’s the possibility of a deal being done somewhere.”  Zouma’s impressive campaign at Everton earned him a call-up to the France national team. And he knows he needs to keep up his performance levels if he is to maintain his place in the French squad. He said: “That is very important for me. It was one of my targets to get into the France team. “I had been there before and wanted to come back. “I managed to do that. Now the target is to play at the Euros – but to be there you have to be playing at your club. So I am working very hard.  “I’m happy with what the manager [Lampard] said about me. That means he is seeing the work I’m doing and I’m very pleased with that. “We had a chat, and he was very good with me. He is a very good manager. “I enjoyed my time at Everton but I’m a Chelsea player and we’ll see what will happens in the future. I think it will be here at Chelsea. “This is a chance for me. I went out on loan last season but I’m a Chelsea player and I want to do well to get my chance and be here.”
