China announces plans to further develop Shenzhen

China has announced plans to further develop Shenzhen into a global business centre, in an apparent bid to reduce the mainland's dependence on Hong Kong. Dr Pradeep Taneja, Lecturer in Asia Politics at the University of Melbourne, shared his views on this.
