Usually, when Ohio State offers an in-state prospect a commitment to the Buckeyes is soon to follow.
So when Al Washington and Ohio State decided to offer Cincinnati La Salle 2021 athlete Jaylen Johnson in June, the expectation was that the 6-foot-1, 205-pound defensive back/linebacker would not take long to make a college choice.
But you know what they say happens when you assume.
Johnson, Ohio's 11th-ranked junior, has prevented himself from giving in to the emotions of what it means to land a scholarship offer like Ohio State and has, instead, decided to slow himself down to explore every possible option that could open up for him.
