The government has warned it will deny funding to counties which fail to clear all pending bills to suppliers by the end of this year. Acting National Treasury Ukur Yatani says they have identified fifteen counties in the country which have refused to show any effort to settle bills to suppliers, smes and contractors, amounting to over fifty billion shillings. Failure to settle the payments has led to stagnation of businesses and closure of some.
