The second episode in our Making a Martin Concert series. This video takes us through the planning stage of our Martin Concert double basses. As each part-finished instrument that comes to us is completely different, we tailor our approach to produce the best sound out of each one. We assess the quality of the wood, making sure to use the natural grain of the material to its advantage in determining gradation and the placement of the bass bar and soundpost.
