Chinese clan associations continue to play an important role in fostering social cohesion in Singapore through deep engagements with other communities. Speaking during a visit to the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations, President Halimah Yacob said this is especially important, given the need to strengthen and maintain racial and religious harmony in Singapore.
