A powerful 6.9-magnitude earthquake has struck the south of the Philippines causing a three-story building to collapse.
Officials suspended classes in the cities of Davao and Cotabato after the quake hit an area of about six kilometres (3.7 miles) in Davao del Sur province.
The Davao region has suffered a number of earthquakes in recent months, resulting in many deaths and severe damage to structures.
The archipelago sits on the Pacific ‘Ring of Fire’, where most of the world’s earthquakes occur.
