If you are renting, which we highly recommend before buying a property in Panama, 98% of Panama rentals are fully furnished. Shipping to Panama is incredibly expensive. If you are here in Phase 1 of your relocation and you feel that Panama is a good fit, our recommendations are to bring only a couple of suit cases, stay for 3 months, and get a feel for area while feeling out the different types of real estate.
If you plan on a long term rental, 1-year most likely you will not need those belongings as all rental units are fully furnished.
I personally sold everything I had when I first arrived in Panama, in hand with 2 suitcases. It's incredibly liberating and I can share all my experiences when we have our first consultation.
