To giggle and get the giggles

To giggle and get the giggles To giggle means to laugh lightly and repeatedly in a silly way, from amusement, nervousness, or embarrassment.
However, when we get the giggles, we cannot stop laughing and it is a fantastic expression.
The last time we both got the giggles we were in a Chinese restaurant and we, accidentally, ate a carrot that was supposed to be decoration and the waiter was not happy. We could not stop laughing for about 30 minutes and even now when we talk about this incident, we laugh a lot.
