Defending Libya: A gradual deployment of Turkish troops to Libya has begun

Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has confirmed a gradual deployment of Turkish troops to Libya has begun. The deployment follows deals struck between Libya and Turkey in November on maritime boundaries in the eastern Mediterranean, and on military co-operation. Forces loyal to the Libyan government are trying to prevent warlord Khalifa Haftar from capturing the capital Tripoli.
