Plainview resident walks away uninjured from early morning rollover crash on Hwy 7 in Yell County

Plainview resident walks away uninjured from early morning rollover crash on Hwy 7 in Yell County A 21-year-old Plainview resident miraculously escaped serious injuries early Wednesday morning, January 15, after being involved in a rollover accident on Highway 7 in Yell County.
Around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning, Yell County 911 operators dispatched the Yell County Sheriff’s Department, Pinnacle EMS, the Yell County Mounted Patrol and the Galla Rock Fire Department to a rollover accident that occurred near the 17000 block of Highway 7 in Centerville. Dispatch advised responders that one vehicle was involved in the crash, it was unknown if injuries had been sustained and there was possible entrapment.
Responders arrived on the scene of the accident located near the Centerville Dollar General Store and discovered a white Ford F-150 that had come to rear upside down in the ditch along the southbound shoulder of the highway. As they attempted to make contact with the driver and/or occupants of the truck, they learned that the driver and only occupant of the truck had climbed out.
Upon the arrival of Pinnacle EMS, the driver was evaluated and advised EMS personnel that he was not injured in the crash.
The Yell County Mounted Patrol and Galla Rock Fire Department also arrived on scene and learned that there was no entrapment, but assisted with traffic control. While the accident was worked, traffic was reduced to one lane through the area.
The accident was investigated by a deputy with the Yell County Sheriff’s Department who determined that the Ford F-150 was traveling south on Highway 7 when the driver briefly fell asleep. The truck left the roadway on the southbound side of the highway and struck a culvert causing the truck to be launched over a driveway and rollover over several times. The truck then came to rest on its roof, facing north following the crash. Fortunately, the driver was wearing his seatbelt and due to him being restrained in the truck, it quite possibly saved his life and prevented serious injuries.
After the driver refused treatment or transport by EMS, he assisted on scene with clean up efforts and retrieved some of his personal property ejected from the truck during the crash.
After the truck was towed from the scene, all responders advised dispatch they were returning to service and at that time, traffic was allowed to resume through the area as normal.
