Fireside with Peter Adkison: History of Dungeons & Dragons | Jonathan Tweet

Fireside with Peter Adkison: History of Dungeons & Dragons | Jonathan Tweet Peter kicks off a new season of Fireside by speaking with Jonathan Tweet about his experience working at Wizards of the Coast including his role in the development of Dungeons & Dragons 3E.

Jonathan Tweet has been bringing new ideas to roleplaying games since 1987, and he is in the Origins Gaming Hall of Fame. Peter hired him in 1993, and he worked at Wizards until 2009. He authored or co-authored the RPGs Over the Edge (2019, 1992), 13th Age (2013), D&D 3rd Ed (2000), Everway (1995), Talislanta 3rd Ed (1992), and Ars Magica (1987). His work inspired many of today’s indie RPG designers, and he values roleplaying games because they inspire players to create rather than simply consume. His children’s book, Grandmother Fish, is the first picture book to teach evolution to preschoolers.

Tabletop gaming legend Peter Adkison is live from Chaldea Studios each Wednesday at 4pm Pacific, sharing stories about the origin and history of industry-defining games. Hosted by Peter Adkison and Co-host Emma Larkins.
