How to Reply to Instagram Stories with GIFs

A new Instagram feature has been added that allows you to reply to your friends’ Instagram story posts with GIFs, which are way more fun than the usual plain keyboard or emoji shortcut replies. Watch this video to learn how to reply to Instagram stories with GIFs!

To begin, open Instagram and start watching your friends’ stories until you see one you want to reply to. Then tap the reply text box at the bottom of your screen. This will open your keyboard as well as show you a selection of emoji shortcut replies to choose from. With this new update though, there is now a GIF button on the right side of the text box. Tap the GIF icon to open a GIF search window. You can choose one of the popular GIFs from the default options, or tap the search bar and type in what kind of reaction GIF you’re looking for. When you see one you like, tap it to send that GIF as a reaction to your friend’s story post. They will see your reaction in their direct message thread with you, along with the story post you were replying to, so they won’t be confused what you’re referring to.
